那时人若问起你的美
当四十个冬天围攻你的朱颜，
When forty winters shall besiege thy brow，
在你美的园地挖下深的战壕，
And dig deep trenches in thy beauty's field，
你青春的华服，那么被人艳羡，
Thy youth's proud livery，so gazed on now，
将成褴褛的败絮，谁也不要瞧。
Will be a tattered weed of small worth held.
那时人若问起你的美在何处，
Then being asked，where all thy beauty lies，
哪里是你那少壮年华的宝藏，
Where all the treasure of thy lusty days，
你说：“在我这双深陷的眼眶里，
To say，within thine own deep-sunken eyes，
是贪婪的羞耻，和无益的颂扬。”
Were an all-eating shame，and thriftless praise.
你的美的用途会更值得赞美，
How much more praise deserved thy beauty's use，
如果你能够说，“我这宁馨小童
If thou couldst answer，’This fair child of mine
将总结我的账，宽恕我的老迈”，
Shall sum my count，and make my old excuse，
证实他的美在继承你的血统！
Proving his beauty by succession thine！
这将使你在衰老的暮年更生，
This were to be new made when thou art old，
并使你垂冷的血液感到重温。
And see thy blood warm when thou feel'st it cold.

Thou art thy mother's glass，and she in thee

Calls back the lovely April of her prime，

So thou through windows of thine age shalt see，

Despite of wrinkles，this thy golden time.

What is your substance，whereof are you made，

And you，but one，can every shadow lend；

And you in every blessed shape we know.

In all external grace you have some part，
但谁都没有你那颗坚贞的心
But you like none，none you，for constant heart.
你不在，连小鸟也停止了歌唱
离开了你，日子多么像严冬，
How like a winter hath my absence been
你，飞逝的流年中唯一的欢乐！
From thee，the pleasure of the fleeting year！
天色多阴暗！我又受尽了寒冻！
What freezings have I felt，what dark days seen，
触目是龙钟腊月的一片萧索！
What old December's bareness everywhere！
可是别离的时期恰好是夏日，
And yet this time removed was summer's time，
和膨胀着累累的丰收的秋天，
The teeming autumn big with rich increase
满载着青春的淫荡结下的果实，
Bearing the wanton burden of the prime，
好像怀胎的新寡妇，大腹便便。
Like widowed wombs after their lords'decease：
但是这累累的丰收，在我看来，
Yet this abundant issue seemed to me
只能成无父孤儿和乖异的果；
But hope of orphans，and unfathered fruit；
因夏天和它的欢娱把你款待，
For summer and his pleasures wait on thee，
你不在，连小鸟也停止了唱歌。
And thou away，the very birds are mute；
或者，即使它们唱，声调那么沉，
Or if they sing，'tis with so dull a cheer
树叶全变灰了，生怕冬天降临。
That leaves look pale，dreading the winter's near.
